On Thursday the 25th of May 2023 there will be this year’s first festival in Arillas. It takes place near the local Church and old school of Arillas village which is about one and a half km from the beach on the way to Magoulades on the main road.

A good friend and great musician with endless talents in flying and building air-planes has created this video and composed this music piece for you!

10 Things you probably Didn't Know About Arillas and the near-by areas.

1. This Area of Corfu is a small  settlement on the outskirts of the community of Magoulades.

The Arillas cultural Organization which is consisted by over 100 members from Arillas, Afionas and Kavadades has established that the Annual  Wine Festival will be taking place this year on Saturday  the 2nd September 2023.

Low atmospheric pressure, the moon face and strong southeast winds have caused the sea level to drop by as much as 30cm in western ionian sea.Which is visible today at our beach.
Our ancestors have always point out that this is a periodic phenomenon, usually occurring in early spring or winter, adding that there is no cause for concern. Sea levels usually return to normal after eight to 10 days. Local fishermen still call it ''Λιγονεριά'' (ligoneria) which means: smaller amount of water in the sea.

Over the years there has been much work done in our beach front by the local entrepreneurs.
I believe that the greatest success of all was the plantation of our native tamarisk trees that for centuries protected the coastline from erosion with the huge spread of their root in the subsoil which manages to be fed with sea water.
